Clean Tech Open www.cacleantech.org  is an organization of leading entrepreneurs, academics, investors and companies, working together to accelerate the development of clean technology startups.

Clean Tech Open provides resources, education and support for clean tech entrepreneurs. Activities include an Annual Business Plan Competition, Mentoring, Sustainability Workshops, a series of Public Symposia and Resource Directory.

Over the last three years Clean Tech open has achieved recognition as the most prominent such organization in the country and is poised to spread nationally and internationally.

Rajan Kasetty, an RTCF member has been actively involved in the Clean Tech Open since last year. He serves as one of the mentors to companies in the competition.

 
RIVERSIDE COMPANY APPROVED FOR RESEARCH FUNDING FROM DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Energy selected Terrafore, Inc., a Riverside, CA, based company to grant a $ 1.8 million award under the Thermal Storage Research and Development category for their Advanced Heat Transfer Fluids and Novel Thermal Storage Concepts for Concentrating Solar Power Generation initiative, which seeks to reduce the cost of energy delivered from Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) plants.

In CSP projects thermal energy storage is required for dispatchable solar power. This stored thermal energy is used to generate electricity as needed during off-peak solar collection times or cloudy days.

Terrafore, along with University of California at Riverside, Jet Propulsion Laboratory and  Hamilton-Sundstrand/ Rocketdyne, will explore the use of innovative molten salt combinations and methods to store and transfer high temperature thermal energy.
